The AWD east side clinic is in need of volunteers to help with the release of adopted and reclaimed pets after surgery. Surgery release takes place Monday through Friday, 3pm to 5pm. You will be instructed on the kenneling system that the clinic uses for the pets that are recovering from surgery. You will need to be comfortable handling cats, dog, and rabbits, be familiar with placing pets into carriers and leashing dogs, be able to walk long distance, and be able to bend and lift at least 10lbs. Pets may be difficult to handle at times, but clinic staff will be available to help in this situation. You do not need to be familiar with after-surgery recovery instruction or medication as clinic staff will complete this.
