Board Member

Family Services For Children seeks a well-connected community member who is passionate about our mission and can leverage their networks and resources in support of efforts to positively impact FSFC. We seek a board member to help cultivate the board’s leadership role in advocacy in support of staff as part of a broader commitment to increase awareness about the importance of our mission. Family Services For Children Board of Directors is comprised of leaders from the nonprofit and for-profit sectors who are dedicated to the organization’s mission. Serving on the FSFC Board of Directors is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the safety and care of local children and strengthening leadership and governance in the nonprofit sector. Board members are expected to have the financial acumen to read and understand FSFC’s financial statements and to otherwise help the board fulfill its fiduciary responsibilities. Board members are expected to attend at minimum 4 of the monthly board meetings per year. They are expected to read board materials in advance of board meetings and to come prepared to ask questions and participate in discussions. Board members are expected to responsibly represent FSFC to their respective communities and to advocate for FSFC’s mission, programs, and services as appropriate.
