This year, Bike to Work Day will be on Thursday, May 14. The City of Albuquerque is looking for volunteers to staff outdoor pop-up event tables (cycle stops) to distribute biking information and free swag to cyclists who stop by.
How will volunteers help out?
We will be handing out bike safety swag for those who need it
and cheering on people riding their bikes on Bike to Work Day. We will
also be counting people bicycling who stop by a pop-up cycle stop or pass by a
pop-up cycle stop.
We will provide volunteers with the materials they need, and volunteers will complete shifts independently. There will be up to 6
volunteers at each location. We encourage you to sign up to work the shift with
friends or coworkers! Just send them the link to this page.
We will reach out to registered volunteers closer to the date of the event with additional details.
Where and when?
This table will be set up at UNM/Nob Hill Area (SE corner of Silver and Bryn Mawr). Volunteers will arrive at 6:30 am to be set up by 7 am. Clean-up will occur at 9 am.
What is Bike to Work Day?
Bike to Work Day is part of Bike Month, which occurs each May. It encourages people to cycle to work and also increases awareness of people cycling in our community. There are additional bicycling-related activities throughout May. For more information, please visit cabq.gov/bike
Important: If this is your
first time using this platform or you’re using a new email address to register,
after clicking “Respond,” you will be prompted to complete the injury/liability
and photo release waivers.
After completing the two waivers, please return to the original
volunteer opportunity page for the location you are interested in volunteering
at and click “Respond” again and go through the prompts to register to
volunteer at that location. Apologies for any confusion.
