Volunteer Water Monitors Needed
About the Position
Volunteer support is needed for the following tasks:
- Monitor/replenish water/ice in all water containers at each water station.
- Water will need to be filled from a designated spigot. Volunteers will need to carry the containers to and from water stations.
About the Event
Hello and thank you for considering volunteering during the inaugural New Mexico Open! ROCKY MOUNTAIN PICKLEBALL and the PPA are thrilled to bring this national pro/am tournament to Albuquerque's Manzano Mesa pickleball courts. The Manzano Mesa venue is located at 501 Elizabeth Street, S.E. There is ample parking adjacent to the courts and easy access to the park via Southern Boulevard and Elizabeth Street.
With an estimated 1000 players expected to compete in the tournament, your much-appreciated services as a volunteer are critical to helping us make the New Mexico Open a truly special event. We also want you to enjoy your time volunteering and being a part of the tournament. After all, we're all here to have a great time, enjoying the New Mexico Open. Whether competing or spectating, we welcome you to be a part of our volunteer staff and a team member.
Rocky Mountain Pickleball uses the Pickleball Desk website as our recruitment database, which assists in organizing volunteers and referees, including their positions and schedules. It's a great tool that allows you to input the shifts you want, make changes, provide a shift schedule, and much more. It is also an easy and effective way to communicate and receive updates and information about the tournament. It's one of many innovations which assist us in running an efficient tournament and improving the participant experience.
As shown here on Pickleball Desk, there is a wide variety of volunteer positions available, from Welcome and Check-in assistants to Media Production Team assistants, and many in between. Most of the time slot commitments are two to three hours, with some beginning pre-tournament and others post-tournament. We invite everyone to signup, including players, spectators, and other participants.To get started after setting up your Pickleball Desk profile, check out the list of Volunteer Categories and select one or more that interests you. As you'll see, there's a wide variety of choices and types of positions available. Don't worry about not being an expert in whichever category you choose. A friendly and helpful volunteer is the primary criteria we're seeking. After determining the categories which interest you, select the shifts you'd like to cover. Most shifts range between two and three hours in commitment time. If you're competing in the tournament and unsure of your availability, simply select shifts that are most likely to work for your schedule. If necessary, the volunteer coordinator will be available to adjust your volunteer times. Finally, when setting up your Pickleball Desk profile, please don't forget to include your unisex t-shirt size.
