Day 2 of Kingdom Builders Preschool and Daycare Service Project is March 21st!
Join us again to complete the work we started! The playground is coming together, but there is more work to be done. We'll be working from 8am until sunset on March 21st.
Kingdom Builders Preschool and Daycare is located in the International District. Help us pitch in and beautify a part of our community that has been overlooked and marginalized for far too long! We're creating a sense of place and a place to be for some of the International District's youngest residents. These kids deserve a safe place to learn and play in Albuquerque’s Southeast side of town. Kingdom Builders works with some of the most at risk children in our neighborhood as well as many refugee families that have moved to our city. Many of these families come from war torn countries in Africa and South America.
This fence was recently shot through when APD was apprehending an individual. Bullets were lodged in the building and penetrated a window of a classroom where children were learning.
Passerby regularly litter the area and improperly dispose of needles in the area and by throwing them over the fence. We're adding colors and making the presence of children known so that they will think twice!
Our team is:
- Fixing a fence that was kicked in when someone experiencing instability in their housing needed a place to sleep.
- Painting the perimeter fence to let the community know that kids are here!!!
- Adding interactive opportunities, shade, and plants to create a safe, enjoyable place to enjoy recess.
Kingdom Builders is placed perfectly to invest in the lives of children that would often otherwise go overlooked. Our goal is to provide art, music and gardening classes. Our main objective is to influence and inspire children to cultivate their own food as well as gain an understanding of living a healthy lifestyle.
We are asking for your help in making this event a success for the children in our neighborhood by volunteering or donating supplies.
