In celebration of Older Americans’ Month this May, the Department of Senior Affairs will collect litter, plant matter, and other debris from the areas surrounding Barelas Senior Center. Let's roll up our sleeves and make a difference in our local community, together!
Our public spaces are the beating heart of our community and it's up to us to ensure they shine brightly. In addition to the Barelas Community Cleanup, volunteers will also beautify the entrance of the senior center to create a more welcoming environment. Just a few hours of your time can make a world of difference so, join us on Friday, May 3rd, 2024!

With every wrapper and stray bottle we collect, we are not just cleaning; we're investing in our shared public spaces where families can gather, friends can reconnect, and community can thrive. We are grateful to the City of Albuquerque, Department of Solid Waste & Clean City Program for providing enough materials for up to 40 volunteers to assist!
Together, let's make a tangible difference and leave a lasting legacy of care and compassion in one of Albuquerque’s historic neighborhoods, Barelas.
