Pulling Holds for Transfer

Interested in working in the quiet of the library before the doors open?  Volunteers for this position will pull materials in the morning that have been requested by patrons at other branches.  Once the items are pulled from the shelves and placed on a cart, the staff will send them to the proper branch location for patron pickup.

This shift can be completed in as little as one hour and a half up to over three hours depending on how many items need to be pulled for that day.  Volunteers will have good attention to detail, knowledge of the dewey decimal system and of alphabetical order, and the ability to read call numbers and barcodes on materials.  Volunteers will be standing and walking for the entire shift, will push a library book cart, will work independently in the stacks (once trained), and will develop a familiarity with all sections of the library while searching for items.

We are interviewing for 1 volunteer who can volunteer specifically on Saturdays (~9:20 a.m. - 11:20 a.m.) AND be a substitute for other days/shifts when necessary.  Cherry Hills Library is open 7 days a week.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Once you have cleared the background check, your application will be in pending status and submitted to Cherry Hills.  The Volunteer Coordinator will contact you for an interview and to let you know the status of the opportunity you have applied for.  A new volunteer may not participate at the library branch until you have been cleared by library staff.
