2021/2022 Masters Road National Championships
The City of Albuquerque will be hosting the Master's Road Bicycle Racing National Championships in 2021 and 2022. This event is expected to bring in over 800 elite athletes from all across the United States. Our city was selected for this honor due to the incredible success of the 2019 National Senior Games, hosted in collaboration between the City of Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, and Visit Albuquerque.
The Masters Road National Championships will take place over 4 days, August 5th-August 8th. Set up begins August 4th for the Time Trial. We will need set up volunteers the day prior to the scheduled event and we will need volunteers to assist with day-of logistics on race day.
We will need considerable volunteer support to welcome the cyclists, prepare the courses, and support day-of race operations to ensure that all athletes perform at their best, focus on their sport, and learn why Albuquerque is such a cyclist-friendly city--with our beautiful views and 310+ days each year with ideal cycling conditions.
Hospitality Volunteers
Hospitality volunteers ensure that our riders/competitors are well taken care of, comfortable, and hydrated during the race day. Visitors to our state can be affected in a number of ways--heat, sun, and altitude can take their toll (spicy food as well, perhaps). Hospitality volunteers may have to carry up to 20lbs, but accommodations can be made for volunteers of all ability levels. These volunteers will also engage directly with competitors/racers, so people persons are particularly encouraged to apply.

Volunteers will receive direction at the start of their shift to remind volunteers of the tasks assigned and to answer any questions.
