Vendor Support Volunteers Needed

The City of Albuquerque will be hosting Juneteenth 2021 at Civic Plaza and we need a lot of support to make it a success. This event will be held on June 18th, 19th, and 20th and we have several shifts each day.

About the opportunity:

Vendor volunteers will need to walk through the vendor areas during the event, keeping an eye out for vendors in need of support. We will have all kinds of vendors present--organizations, artists, and vendors, who will have a variety of needs. Vendor support volunteers may need to think creatively and quickly to support our vendors in attendance.

This is one of our more physically demanding volunteer positions during the celebration weekend and these volunteers should be comfortable walking for long periods of time. Volunteers may also be needed to lift/manipulate heavy objects and carry/transport heavy objects. Volunteers may be exposed to the weather/sunlight and should dress for the weather.

While many roles during set up may be physically demanding, we encourage all volunteers who are interested to register. If you have different abilities you would prefer to use to support this work, please leave us a note when you register to let us know if there is any work that you would rather not do or would need support or accommodations to accomplish.

Early shifts will include set up support, spreading out trash cans/recycling bins. Helping vendors unload and take items to their assigned table and water station setup. 

Mid shifts will support during the event, running between merchandise table and stage, artist lineup, and kids activities. 

Later shifts will support clean up, reset, restock water area, help vendors pack up and load cars, and close down merchandise station.
