We are excited to be launching Community Block Parties across Albuquerque running Saturday's from 12pm-3pm between October-February. The purpose of the block parties is to flood our communities with resources & services specific to the needs in a particular neighborhood.
We are looking for compassionate friendly volunteers who understand how to be in space with community to do outreach in the area on the Wednesday before the block party takes place, passing out flyers to people on the street and posting them in community areas such as bulletin boards at local businesses.
Here is a sample script of what you might say as you hand out flyers: "Hi my name is ___________ a volunteer with the City of Albuquerque. I wanted to let you know about a Community Block Party we are having in your neighborhood. We'll have free food, fun activities for kids and lots of resources like emergency rental assistance and more. It is on Saturday from 12-3pm. Here is a flyer. We hope to see you there."
Outreach volunteers will meet up with Nichole Rogers or Amarisa Barboa at the block party site for instructions and materials. They can be reached at 505-217-5465 for questions.
