Description

Celebrate Earth Month by rolling up your sleeves and making a real impact in your community! The City of Albuquerque’s Solid Waste Management Department is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to serve as Event Coordinators for our annual E-Waste Drop-Off Event—a fast-paced, feel-good day of service that helps keep harmful electronics out of our landfill.

Location: North Lot at Balloon Fiesta Park
Date: Saturday, April 18
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (shifts available)

What You’ll Do:

Be part of the action as you:

  • Help unload electronics from vehicles alongside City crews
  • Assist with traffic flow to keep things moving smoothly
  • Support documentation collection and event organization
  • Engage with residents dropping off items and help create a positive experience

What to Expect:

This is an active, outdoor volunteer opportunity—perfect for those who like to stay moving and work as part of a team. Volunteers should be comfortable lifting up to 20 lbs. and being on their feet for most of their shift. Don’t worry—we’ve got you covered with snacks, drinks, and plenty of breaks to keep you energized.

Why Volunteer?

Earth Month is all about taking action, and this is your chance to be part of something bigger. By helping collect and properly dispose of e-waste, you’re protecting our environment, supporting sustainable practices, and keeping Albuquerque beautiful.

Bring your energy, your teamwork, and your community spirit—we’ll bring the rest. Let’s make this Earth Month one to remember!
