Volunteer: Holiday Meal Service

Hello, One ABQ Volunteers

You are invited to help HHH serve dinner at Gateway West on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25th.

City shelters are a place where people in need come to seek stability and safety. It may be challenging for someone experiencing homelessness to celebrate the holidays. However, your time and effort could bring warmth and comfort to those who need it most.

3–5pm Setup

Come early to clean serving tables, decorate, setup buffet stations (plates, utensils, napkins), and prepare to greet guests.

4–6pm Main Meal Service

Serve residents as they come through the buffet line. Replenish food and drinks. Keep the serving area tidy, and interact with clients kindly and respectfully.

6-8pm cleanup

Please stay to help us clean tables, put away chairs, take out trash and recycling, wash serving utensils, and leave the kitchen clean and orderly.

If you are available this Christmas, your presence will truly touch lives and  brighten the holiday season for hundreds of people.

Thank you!

We are looking for cheerful and hard working elves to help us make this event magical for our ABQ community.

EXTRA DECORATING SHIFT
Friday December 12 from 12PM to 3PM
This shift is all about adding sparkle fluffing garlands placing signage and helping us transform the Yards into a warm and festive holiday space.

FIRST WEEKEND SHIFTS
Saturday December 13 from 10AM to 1PM or 1PM to 4PM
Sunday December 14 from 10AM to 1PM or 1PM to 4PM
Tasks include welcoming guests supporting the Children's Zone helping with vendors spreading cheer and jumping in wherever the holiday magic is needed.

When you arrive swing by the Info Booth and ask for Ching so I can get you checked in and placed for your shift.

Getting here is easy
We offer a free Park and Ride to help volunteers and guests avoid parking stress. You can park for free at the ABQ Zoo then hop on the free shuttle that drops you right at the Rail Yards. Shuttles run from 9AM to 5PM. Bike riders can also enjoy our free Bike Valet on site.

Thank you for sharing your energy with us and helping make the Holiday Market sparkle. I will send a detailed orientation email the Thursday before the event so you have everything you need to feel prepared and comfy.

Volunteer: Holiday Hospice Hero

This season, we’re inviting caring hearts to become Holiday Hospice Heroes at LilyCare New Mexico.

Heroes help brighten a patient’s holiday by gifting a small Christmas trinket or sending a heartfelt card — a simple gesture that brings comfort and joy.

For privacy, no patient details are shared, just the opportunity to give kindness where it’s needed most.

If you’re looking for a meaningful way to spread holiday cheer, we’d love to have you join us.
