Opportunities From: One Albuquerque Volunteers

Volunteer: Pet Food Distribution - International District Library

Volunteer With Us: Friday Morning Pet Food Distribution

Do you love supporting animals?
Do you believe no one should have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their pets?
Do you want to serve low-income and unhoused pet owners in the International District?

If so, we invite you to join us on Friday mornings.

Each week, Vets for Pets distributes dog and cat food, water, and basic pet supplies to families and individuals in need. We operate on two seasonal cycles: Winter/Spring and Summer/Fall. During our current Winter/Spring session, distribution begins promptly at 10:00 AM. When temperatures rise, we shift to an earlier start time to better serve the community and protect volunteers and participants from the heat.

Volunteers may meet us at 9:00 AM at 500 Wisconsin Street NE to help load and organize supplies, or meet us directly at the International District Library (7601 Central Avenue NE), where distribution begins promptly at 10:00 AM.

This is hands-on, community-facing work. You will help deliver essential resources, connect with pet owners, and ensure that families and their companion animals receive consistent support.

Whether you can serve regularly or occasionally, your participation makes a real difference.

Volunteer: Community Food Pantry Weekly Distributions

Volunteer With Us: Help Serve at Our Weekly Food Distributions

Do you care about tackling hunger in our community?
Do you believe families deserve reliable access to healthy food?
Do you want to be part of something that brings dignity, organization, and compassion to food distribution?

If so, we invite you to join our volunteer team.

Each week, in partnership with Roadrunner Food Bank, we distribute food to families in our community. Volunteers help unload deliveries, set up distribution tables, organize food items, assist with registration and line management, and help ensure that families move through the process efficiently and respectfully.

This is direct, people-centered work. You will meet neighbors, support families, and help create an organized and welcoming environment during distribution hours.

Whether you can serve once a week or once a month, your time helps us remain open and consistent. Community participation is what makes this possible.

Volunteer: Packing Pet Food for Low-Income and Unhoused Pet Owners

Volunteer With Us: Help Prepare for Our Weekly Pet Food Distributions

Do you love supporting animals?
Do you want to help us tackle food insecurity and hunger in our community?
Do you believe that families should not have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their pets?

If so, we invite you to join our volunteer team.

Each week, we prepare and pack pet food, treats, and toys for our two community distributions — one at 500 Wisconsin and one at the International District Library. Volunteers help sort donations, portion pet food into family-sized packages, organize supplies, assemble distribution kits, and prepare materials so that our events run smoothly and efficiently.

This is hands-on, meaningful work that directly supports families and their companion animals. Your time helps ensure that pets stay fed, families stay supported, and our distributions remain consistent and welcoming.

Whether you can serve once a week or once a month, your participation makes a real difference.
