OBJECTIVE: Assist our Technical Director, Cinematographer, and Music Coordinator with a variety of tasks, including but not limited to behind-the-scenes assistance, organization, and programming.

SKILLS: Must be able to lift, stand, and carry technical equipment as needed, such as wrap cords, carry camera gear, or music equipment.

Must have eagerness to learn and willingness to help, a sense of awareness, and attention to detail.
A great opportunity for students or individuals wanting to learn more about camera work and sound stage processes.
You will be working 1:1 with professionals eager to teach others about their craft. Some experience is wonderful, but not required.

Thank you for volunteering for AFMX! The Festival will take place at multiple locations. You will be assigned where to go when you check in for your shift.

Ticket scanners & Venue Assistants will be positions that report to the Venue Manager (VM). The VM will assign volunteers to their positions at the beginning of each shift.

Below are the responsibilities of those positions

SKILLS: Strong customer service, positive attitude, and great communication skills. Able to stand, walk, and lift to 30 lbs.

TICKET SCANNERS:

Assist attendees with exceptional customer service regarding festival logistics, schedule, and general information. Responsible for ensuring proper credentials or tickets are presented upon entry to each event. Reports to VM and is the first point of contact for guests entering the venue. Scan and Sell tickets (training provided).

VENUE ASSISTANT Assist with stage set-up for Q&A sessions and/or Center Stage Conversations. Coordinate with the VM and AV for opening the theater; if necessary, will hold patrons outside the theater until issues or problems are resolved inside the theater. Assist VM with passing microphones during Q&A. Clear theater for next event.

Thank you for signing up to volunteer with AFMX! The Venue Manager is a vital part of our events as you will oversee the production of each event.

We have multiple venues and you will be assigned to yours when you arrive at the beginning of your shift. A check-list of detailed responsibilities will be provided to you.

The responsibilities and requirements include:

Requires strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to manage a small team of dedicated volunteers.Greet Host (who will introduce event and panels and special guests) and provide assistance as neededCoordinate with Tech team on Audio Visual requirements necessary for each program. Coordinate water stations and set-up of stage for panelists and special guests.Oversee Ticket Takers and Venue Assistant to ensure they understand their responsibilities and are ready to greet patrons as they arrive.

Objective:

Join the AFMX team as a Data Loader and play a crucial role behind the scenes! We are looking for a detail-oriented volunteer to assist our marketing and editing teams by organizing and preparing raw image and video content.

Responsibilities:
Receive and manage digital media (images and videos) from our Back-the-Scenes (BTS) team throughout the festival week.
Apply appropriate labels and metadata to each file to ensure easy search and retrieval.
Upload all labeled content to our cloud storage system.
Work closely with our editing team to ensure timely and organized access to all visual assets for creating marketing and promotional materials.

Skills and Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Basic understanding of digital file management and cloud storage systems is a plus, but training will be provided.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
A passion for film and music is a bonus!

Volunteer: 2025 Videography Editor (post Festival)

AFMX is looking for video editors who can help create content from video and image content uploaded during the Festival. This is a great opportunity for students or individuals wanting to learn more about camera work and editing. This is a virtual opportunity but must also be available to meet with the editing supervisor in person (Albuquerque area) or via video chat.

Create 10 to 30-second videos using video and image content captured by the BTS team during festival week.

The festival content will be accessed via a Google Share Drive we make available to our editing team. The content will be available in 1080dpi | MP4 file types to make a variety of editing tools viable.

This is a commitment of 6 editing hours during the week of October 1st - October 10th, 2025.

Editing experience is required; must have editing software.
