Friends of New Mexico Fisher House

Organization volunteers participate in on-site assistance, outreach, and fundraising events to help provide a "Home Away from Home" for the families of veterans and active duty service members undergoing inpatient medical treatment at the VA medical center. Because a family’s love is good medicine.

Friends of New Mexico Fisher House support the Fisher House built by the Fisher House Foundation on the grounds of the Raymond G Murphy Veterans Medical Center in Albuquerque NM. The organization supports America's Veterans and active duty service members in their time of need by providing a home away from home to enable families to be close during hospitalization. The Fisher House provides housing for families of Veterans and active duty Service members free of charge with a private room; shared kitchen laundry room facilities and outdoor areas while their loved one is in the care of the Veteran's Hospital. The House is within walking distance of the hospital and there is no charge for the family's stay.
