Who We Are

The Great Southwest Council was chartered in 1920 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to provide positive character development, outdoor opportunities, and leadership training to youth. These aspects combine to help mold young people into better citizens for the future.

What We Do

It is the mission of Scouts BSA to serve others by helping to instill values in young people, and in other ways, to prepare them to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Law and Oath. Our vision is to provide unparalleled programs for an increasing number of young people. We welcome boys and girls into our Cub Scout program beginning in kindergarten through 5th grade and continue with Scouting for all youth ages 11-18.
