Who We Are
Food Rescue US (FRUS) is a national non-profit with an Albuquerque branch. Volunteer drivers transport donated food to agencies serving needy or homeless people. There is severe food insecurity among families due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
What We Do
Drivers are needed to transport surplus food from grocery stores and restaurants to food pantries and shelters. Rescues are scheduled via an app on a smartphone or tablet. Food includes bagels, produce, and frozen vegetables. Vehicles from compact cars to trucks may be used.
