Who We Are

The mission of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) is to provide support, services and education to individuals, families and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias nationwide, and fund research for better treatment and a cure. AFA was founded in 2002 by a caregiver whose mother lived with Alzheimer’s disease from 1980-1992. At that time, there was little information available and nowhere to turn for support. His goal was to make sure that no other family living with Alzheimer’s disease would have to go the journey alone.

What We Do

Alzheimer’s Foundation of America is hosting a multi-year national tour, AFA Educating America Tour, which features Concepts In Care, and Alzheimer’s educational conference, and also includes a display of the AFA Quilt To Remember and Memory screenings for attendees. EVENT HISTORY AND PROFILE: AFA Educating America Tour, now in its fourth year, features free educational conferences that enable participants to learn about topics such as caregiving strategies and support, communication and safety tips and research and public policy. Free memory screenings will be provided at each conference, along with a display of AFA Quilt to Remember, which pays tribute to all those who have been affected by Alzheimer’s and related dementias.
